What is the Mystery of Lawlessness?

06/07/2014 21:17

Jesus lists several signs to look for that alert us to the approaching end of the age in Matthew 24 and Luke 21.

Paul also warned us that the end times would be characterized by a mystery of lawlessness.

The period of the end times was ushered in at the crucifixion of Jesus. The time clock for Israel stopped at Daniel’s 69th week (Daniel 9:24-27). We are now in the church age and at the end of it will be the catching away of the church to begin the final week of seven years fully focused on Israel.

This gap between crucifixion and catching away is the church age where anyone can call upon the Name of Jesus and learn to live for Him. Anyone.  This is a mystery revealed for the last days.

 I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church, of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.  To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:4-27

Not to be undone, Satan has devised his own mystery. That’s what Paul calls the mystery of lawlessness.

 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?  And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time.  For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.  And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.  The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:5-12

For the church, the Holy Spirit serves as the preceptor to not only guide Christians successfully in ministry, but to capacitate them. He releases glory in the born again believer. Complete opportunity and empowerment is provided the dedicated follower of Christ to be wise.

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. John 16:13

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:11

The mystery of lawlessness is preceptored by the spirit of lawlessness; deception. As Paul states, it’s already at work, but in these later days of the end times, this spirit of deception or lawlessness, is noticeably increasing. What little bit of natural wisdom humans under this influence have, is being sucked out.

Let’s see, how can I put this delicately? The spirit of lawlessness makes those who don’t know Christ more stupid. It sucks away light by blocking it. They have no way around it.

And they are already believing a delusion of this spirit of lawlessness. This is a sign we are at the hinder part of the end times.

If you listen carefully, there has to be a sucking sound of evaporating wisdom being replaced by the delusion of lawlessness. This is your zombie apocalypse; reserved for the last days. And what an army of blind zealots.

That’s enough. Want more? There’s plenty here on our Lawlessness page.

The following scripture passage reveals a backward or reversed view that will permeate the last days:

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
And prudent in their own sight!

Woe to men mighty at drinking wine,
Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink,
Who justify the wicked for a bribe,
And take away justice from the righteous man! Isaiah 5:20-23

This darkness of the last days serves to attract. When God the Father says it’s time, the true and faithful last-days church will assume its place fulfilling the promise.

“And it shall come to pass afterward
That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your old men shall dream dreams,
Your young men shall see visions.
 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

 “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth:
Blood and fire and pillars of smoke.
 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
And the moon into blood,
Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
 And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Shall be saved.
For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance,
As the Lord has said,
Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.  Joel 2:28-32

Yes! Come deliverance, come and let the mystery of God be revealed!
