Israel National News:  Sources at the United Nations expressed concern, Thursday evening, following publication of a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which said Syria violated its commitments regarding development of its nuclear capabilities.

British Ambassador Mark Lyall Grant told reporters that Neville Whiting, head of the IAEA safeguards department dealing with Syria and Iran, had given a “devastating briefing … from which you could only draw one conclusion – that Syria did have at Dair Alzour a clandestine nuclear plant.” UN Ambassador Susan Rice of the United States said the report confirmed US concerns about the program.

The plant is believed to have been destroyed by Israel. Russia and China suggested that the Security Council not get involved because the plant no longer exists.
