U.S. Presidential Election Lines up with the Bible, Perfectly

This US presidential election is more in line with the Bible than ever! It’s as if they’ve scripted their positions, speeches, and actions right from ancient Biblical texts.

It really looks like the pages of Biblical prophecy have come alive and laid that path towards the end of this age. That path is looking much shorter now. It sounds like we are hearing the final clock ticks of time we have known.

What prophetic scholars only imagined a few years ago, we are now experiencing in real time. It’s here.In the end times, Jerusalem is prophesied to be a stumbling stone for the nations of the world.

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. Zechariah 12:2-3

I never imagined that Jerusalem would also become a stone of stumbling for the United States, but it has. In the now viral video from the Democratic National Convention, the vote to add the position plank of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital clearly failed the voice vote, but convention leaders pushed it through anyway; through boos and hisses. They stumbled on Jerusalem.

U.S. Christians are becoming more political and less evangelistic, and this is something they need to watch. It’s easy to wrap up in political anger and point out sin, but our call is to reach the lost. If we see the signs of the end fast approaching as they are, then we should be about the Master’s business of healing the sick, preaching the Gospel, and being the light for Jesus. We are Christians, not Democrats, Republicans, Conservatives, or Liberals. We need to be evangelistic. We need to shine Jesus, not politics.

“Yet I have chosen Jerusalem, that my Name may be there…” 2 Chronicles 6:6

We find Jerusalem throughout history since it was first mentioned as the home of Melchizedek in his visit with Abraham. Throughout its long history, Jerusalem has been destroyed twice, besieged 23 times, attacked 52 times, and captured and recaptured 44 times. Israel captured East Jerusalem during the 1967 Six-Day War and subsequently annexed it, making Jerusalem whole and fully under Israeli control, sort of.

The current complication with Jerusalem is the fact that the international community has rejected the annexation as illegal and treats East Jerusalem as Palestinian territory held by Israel under military occupation. The international community does not recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, including the United States, and the city hosts no foreign embassies.

The term “military occupation” is wielded as a sword comparing Israel to South African apartheid. Israel is characterized as occupation-oppressors by the international community and even by U.S. President Obama who walks a not so fine line with Middle East politics. Obama’s political influence comes from his mostly-absent father’s political ideals against colonialism so he has less than warm feelings for Israel as he considers Israel an oppressor. Should he be elected to a second term as President, expect to see a more anti-Israeli-occupation position. He too trips on Jerusalem.

The other item that Democrats, at President Obama’s request, voted to approve was a mention of God. This one is totally ignored by the media, but it is most significant in relation to the end times. This is the Amendment:

Page 32, Line 48: We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values, and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.

You will notice it just subtly mentions “God.” Should be no biggie. But it was.

Both the amendments were offered for voice vote together. The leadership fully expected them to both pass without any issues. But the voice vote against these was noticeably louder than the approvals.

Were they saying no more to Jerusalem or to God? Both? We don’t know. Frankly, I don’t think we want to know. What we heard is enough for us to be alarmed. This proves we are closer than we thought to the end of the church age and the beginning of the tribulation.

Paul writes to Timothy that one of the signs of the last days is that people will love pleasure more than they will love God. 2 Timothy 3:1-4

He also writes that one of the characteristics of evil people is they hate God. Romans 1:30

But during the tribulation, even after so many judgments, the people of the planet still reject God.

But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts. Revelation 9:20-21

And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. Revelation 16:9

They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds. Revelation 16:11

And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great. Revelation 16:21

They stumble over Jerusalem because they blame Israel for their suffering.

They stumble over God because they blame Him for their suffering.

If we as Christians are not becoming aware of His presence in us and our mission to reach the lost, dying, and hurting, then we too are stumbling.
