Science and Technology to Help with the Third Temple

“We are commanded to build a Sanctuary in which G-d’s Presence may dwell,” states Mordechai Prince of the Temple Institute during an annual conference in Old Jerusalem as reported April 1, 2010 in Arutz Sheva. In this conference, Rabbis and scientists pulled together to discuss how new technological advances can be used in the new Temple.

Conference speakers shared how technology can be used in the construction not only of the temple itself, but in designing the Temple utensils as well.  Three-dimensional imagery may be used as well as other advanced construction techniques.  They also discussed how technology of the day was used in Moses' Tabernacle and listed several modern options to consider such as, massive digital screens to allow worshpers to see the High Priest work, or escalators to carry pilgrims up to the Temple Mount courtyards, and special buses designed in such a way that they can't be tainted by spiritual impurity. these and others were recently reported on the Temple Moiunt Institute's website.

Prince further stated, “Though this is a national commandment, every individual is commanded to do what he can to this end. Today we cannot build the Temple for political reasons, but we can still build the utensils, which we have done; we have an exhibit with the holy utensils [such as the Menorah], and when the Temple is rebuilt, we will have utensils and Priestly garments ready for use. Everything was made and sewn according to the Halakhic standards that appear in Torah and Halakhic literature.”

The article said that they are preparing everything they can so that when the Temple is finally ready to build, they can move quickly with both the Temple construction and the installation of the Temple utensils.

At the same time, the Jerusalem Post reports that Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah alleged in an interview that Israel is planning the destruction of the Al-Aksa Mosque and he urged Palestinians to “embrace the option of resistance.”

Israeli National News Arutz Sheva reported on March 28, 2010 that a group has launched a huge advertising campaign stating, "the Temple be built speedily in our time."

Temple Three discussions seem to be escalating, and some of this may be due to the fact that it is Pesach (Passover) holiday. There are a couple of big things in the way preventing the immediate construction of Temple Three, namely, the Al Aska Mosque and the Dome of the Rock, which are a couple of important places for the Muslims. Both of these are located on the Temple Mount—the site most Israelis believe where the first two Temples were located.

The Temple Mount is Mount Moriah and for those of you who know your Bible and Jewish history even just a little, you know that Mount Moriah has some powerful significance. This is the place where Abraham offered up Isaac, his son (Genesis 22). Even before that, this is where Abraham offered tithes to Melchizedek (Genesis 14).

Right now, the Palestinians have claim to the Temple Mount based on the fact that they have two “holy sites” located there. For more information about this, read Prophecy Dude’s blog “Two Myths in the Case for a Palestinian State.”

What I want to emphasize here is the fact that there will be a third Temple. Look at this from Daniel 9:27, “The ruler will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven, but after half this time, he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings. And as a climax to all his terrible deeds, he will set up a sacrilegious object that causes desecration, until the fate decreed for this defiler is finally poured out on him.” Then read Daniel 11:31, “And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation.” Then finally Daniel 12:11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days.”

Up until the mid point of the Tribulation, Israelis will be performing sacrifices and it’s within the Third Temple that the Antichrist will perform the “abomination of desolation. Jesus confirms this when He says in Matthew 24:15, 16, “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” Here Jesus is speaking to Jews about Jews. The church will have already been “caught away” in the rapture according to 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17:

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

Right now, there is no Temple and no Temple sacrifices are taking place, but halfway into the Tribulation, we know from scripture that all of this is in place. How will this happen when so much seems opposed to Israel getting the Temple where they believe it should be?  Even the United States is posturing itself between Israel and the Palestinians trying to avoid war in the Middle East. As these tensions escalate, we find Jerusalem in the center of it all. Think about this, what if Israel did take down the Al Aksa Mosque. We know that the Palestinians and all the other surrounding Muslim nations would react violently, right? Look what the prophet Zechariah said:

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. (Zechariah 12:2, 3).

The prophet is telling us that the tensions in Jerusalem will only increase and involve the whole world. I believe this will result in a war that will shake the world, although it’s focused in Israel and against Israel. This is what the Prophet Ezekiel spoke about in chapters 38 and 39. Out of this world mess will rise a leader who will bring peace and sign an agreement with Israel. In all agreements, there is an exchange. The Antichrist will offer Israel something they cannot refuse—the Temple Mount for their beloved Third Temple. It will be quickly constructed with advanced technology and since the Temple utensils will have already been made, sacrifices can begin in quick order, until the Man of Sin enters and desecrates the Temple midway through the Tribulation setting off the Wrath of God for the final three years.
