Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speaking just days after Egypt's regime collapsed and an Arab world went into revolt said the Israeli military is "ready for all eventualities" as the Arab and Muslim world undergoes "an earthquake."

The new Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz, will replace Lt. Gen.Gabi Ashkenazi, who served as Chief of the General Staff in the last four years and is retiring from the IDF after 40 years of service.

Gantz thanked the outgoing chief Lt. Gen.Gabi Ashkenazi and said 'the smiles end today and the hard work begins.'
