Plea scheduled for man accused of cannibalism
BEL AIR, Md. - A plea hearing is scheduled for a college student who told authorities he killed a man and ate his heart and parts of his brain.
The hearing for Alex Kinyua is scheduled for Monday morning in Bel Air.
A June hearing was postponed due to a paperwork error relating to his transport from the state's maximum-security psychiatric hospital.
Kinyua is expected to plead guilty but not criminally responsible to first-degree murder in the 2012 death of a 37-year-old man from Ghana who was staying with Kinyua's family in the Baltimore suburbs.
Authorities say Kinyua ranted about "human sacrifices" on Facebook before the slaying.
In a separate case, Kinyua pleaded pleaded guilty but not criminally responsible to a baseball bat attack at his Baltimore college. ABC2
