Netanyahu: Soviet Union Immigration Saved the Economy

10 immigrant scientists received on Tuesday certificates of merit at a conference held at Tel Aviv University. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, Minister of Immigrant Absorption Sofa Landver, Minister of Science and Technology Daniel Hershkowitz, and representatives from the university.
Prime Minister Netanyahu said during the ceremony that the mass immigration from the former USSR to Israel saved the economy, as many immigrants were absorbed in hi-tech, medicine, and academia.
