Man accused of having sex with his pet bird; peacock later found dead
NBC5 Chicago has confirmed it: It's not a copy of Weekly World News.
David Beckman, age 64 from Roselle, has been accused of sexually molesting a peacock named Phyl.
Earlier this month DuPage County Judge Alex McGimpsey faced Beckman in the courtroom and had him taken into custody. Yesterday, bail was increased to $20,000 for the misdemeanor charge he faces: animal cruelty. Beckman quickly raised his 10% of the bail money and is awaiting judgement.
Roselle police report that Beckman's peacock was found dead during an investigation into a child solicitation case.
The accused beastiality loving Beckman has been ordered as of yesterday to undergo a psychological exam.
Clara Varnes of Willowbrook said she was "disgustingly shocked" when she heard the news, according to a local Chicago radio station, going on to add:
"I can't even imagine how it would be possible to do such a thing with a bird. What makes it even worse is the guy was under investigation for child solicitation. And now, the poor bird was raped (allegedly) and is dead." Examiner
