Is President Obama Anti-Semitic?

The Obama administration seems to be creating a rift in the long standing friendly relationship with Israel. According to an article in the Telegraph, Israelis say US President Barak Obama snubbed Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu by walking out of tense talks for dinner with his family. The article also states, “The snub marked a fresh low in US-Israeli relations and appeared designed to show Mr. Netanyahu how low his stock had fallen in Washington after he refused to back down in a row over Jewish construction in east Jerusalem.”

According to the article, just before President Obama left the negotiations, “He immediately presented Mr. Netanyahu with a list of 13 demands designed both to end the feud with his administration and to build Palestinian confidence ahead of the resumption of peace talks. Key among those demands was a previously-made call to halt all new settlement construction in east Jerusalem.”

Further the article states, “Sending a clear message of his displeasure, Mr. Obama treated his guest to a series of slights. Photographs of the meeting were forbidden and an Israeli request to issue a joint-statement once it was over were turned down.

"There is no humiliation exercise that the Americans did not try on the prime minister and his entourage," Israel's Maariv newspaper reported. "Bibi received in the White House the treatment reserved for the president of Equatorial Guinea."

While some are wondering loudly if Obama is anti-Semitic (Examiner), Senior White House Adviser David Axelrod is working to dispel concerns by stating on CNN, "This was a working meeting among friends. And so there was no snub intended, (Huffington Post)."

A recent poll taken among Israeli Jews in Jerusalem revealed that 9% believe President Obama supports Israel, and 48% believe the American President favors the Palestinians. The rift is further compounded with Israeli Science and Technology Minister Daniel Hershkowitz calling Obama a Pharaoh (PressTV):  “The demand to prevent natural growth in settlements is unreasonable and is akin to Pharaoh's demand that all firstborn sons be thrown into the Nile River…"

But whatever the Obama administration’s intent and purposes are towards Netanyahu and Israel, the United States Congress is making their thoughts clearly known with their letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton requesting the administration to back down in regards to Israel. Hillel Fendel from Israel’s publication Arutz Sheva states, “Signed by 327 Representatives, out of 435, the letter calls on Clinton and the Obama Administration to settle its disputes with Israel in a non-public and friendly fashion. The current tensions “will not advance the interests the U.S. and Israel share,” the letter states, as “above all, we must remain focused on the threat posed by the Iranian nuclear weapons program to Middle East peace and stability."

The article continues, “We are writing to reaffirm our commitment to the unbreakable bond that exists between our country and the State of Israel, and to express to you our deep concern over recent tension. In every important relationship, there will be occasional misunderstandings and conflicts… Differences are best resolved quietly, in trust and confidence, as befits longstanding strategic allies…”

While Prophecy Dude is not prepared to go so far yet to say that President Obama is anti-Semitic, I will say that President Obama, of all the Presidents since the founding of Israel, is definitely the coldest towards Israel. For those of us who understand Biblical prophecy, this is a scary, tell-tale sign that we are entering the end times. We understand that the nations who bless Israel will be blessed, and those who do not, will be cursed, and this is almost word for word from the Bible, as stated in Genesis 12:1-3, which clearly says, The Lord had said to Abram, ‘Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.’”

President Obama’s treatment of Netanyahu, who represents Israel, if not anti-Semitic, is definitely contemptuous. He is a far cry shy from another Democratic President’s relationship to Israel. President Harry Truman’s work truly helped bring about Israel as a nation. President Truman stated that God’s purpose for him was to help bring Israel into existence and he wrote, "The question of Palestine as a Jewish homeland goes back to the solemn promise that had been made to them [the Jews] by the British in the Balfour Declaration of 1917 - a promise which had stirred the hopes and the dreams of these oppressed people. This promise, I felt, should be kept, just as all promises made by responsible, civilized governments should be kept." (Mideast Web)

Jerusalem belongs to Israel, and has for over 3,000 years. As Netanyahu stated in speeches in the United States recently, “Jerusalem is our Capitol.” It does not belong to Palestinians. We need to look again at what President Truman said about keeping promises. Jerusalem, east and west, belong to Israel.
