From AOL:  (Nov. 30) -- Authorities in Indonesia were forced to shut down the airport in Malang as Mount Bromo, which erupted on Saturday, continued to spew hot ash thousands of feet into the air.

Bromo began showing signs of activity in early November when the government raised the eruption warning level to its red alert maximum, according to Agence France-Presse. The airport, located about 16 miles west of the active volcano, will remain closed until Dec. 4.

The 7,641-foot mountain is located in the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park, a popular countryside tourist destination that's home to several other volcanoes. Experts say Bromo will continue to erupt for several days.
