Icelandic Eruption May be First in a Series

That’s what Wei Haiquan, an expert on volcanology with the China Earthquake Administration said in China’s Global Times. “Iceland is one of the most active areas as far as volcanoes go. The recent Eyjafjallajokull eruption is not a major one, but yes, there is the possibility that it will awake a series of volcanoes east of it, because both of them have a close relationship in the south, an extremely active area in Iceland.”

Without getting into a deep geological study, I don’t have time for that, let’s just say that volcanoes and earthquakes are related in that they represent an upheaval of the earth’s crust in one form or another, and they often exhibit together. Volcanoes are often accompanied by earthquakes.

So, if you go in and read up on Prophecy Dude’s several blog installments on earthquakes, you’ll find related information about how all this points to the end.

There is information indicating that volcanic activity is increasing. So far in 2010 for the month of April, there have already been nine according to the Global Volcanism Program.  That’s several more than the previous years had in total each.  For those of us who believe we are in the last days, this comes as no surprise.

When the Second Trumpet sounds in Revelation 8:8-9, the description can be that of a volcano erupting—several prophecy teachers believe this to be so. Here is what it says:

Then the second angel sounded: And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood.  And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

The ocean floors have several volcanoes. The whole earth will begin convulsing as prophesied.

Reports say that the Eyjafjallajokull eruption has really hit the airline industry by costing them billions of dollars. They are certainly not the only ones affected, and I imagine the full negative impact is yet to be realized. All of these earthly upheavals will create economic stress throughout the world. These economic chaotic events could be the description John the Revelator wrote about (even though this comes before the trumpet destruction):

When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand.  And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” Revelation 6:5-6.

The Solid Earth Science Working Group reports that volcanoes can cause temperatures to drop causing a major cooling that can last years, “In 1991, Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines erupted, and strong winds spread the aerosol particles from the plume around the globe. The result was a measurable cooling of the Earth's surface for a period of almost two years.” The Book of Revelation describes in several areas the effect on climate for dimmed daylight and darkness to scorching effects of the sun.

Consider these:

And it shall be
      That he who flees from the noise of the fear
      Shall fall into the pit,
      And he who comes up from the midst of the pit
      Shall be caught in the snare;
      For the windows from on high are open,
      And the foundations of the earth are shaken.
        The earth is violently broken,
      The earth is split open,
      The earth is shaken exceedingly.
        The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard,
      And shall totter like a hut;
      Its transgression shall be heavy upon it,
      And it will fall, and not rise again.

Isaiah 24:18-20

…because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.  For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.  Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. Romans 8:21-23

Earthquakes, volcanoes, Oh My! What a way to celabrate Earth Day by calling the earth drunk and pregnant! But, they are all signs of the end. Are you ready?
