Hawaii's Tsunami Damage at $30.6 Million

Israel National News:  Officials in the state of Hawaii say more than $30 million in damage was done by a tsunami that hit the region after a 9.0 earthquake in Japan two weeks ago. The same tsunami ravaged Japan, killing at least 20,000 people and leaving hundreds of thousands homeless.

Hawaii suffered much less damage and no loss of life, but still, many residents and business owners were faced with extensive property damage. Officials have asked the federal government to step in with a Presidential Disaster Declaration, or possibly low-interest disaster loans.
