Congressman Randy Forbes, R-Va., has reintroduced a resolution to affirm “In God We Trust” as the national motto. H.Con.Res.13, which has bipartisan support, comes after President Obama misidentified the motto in a speech in Indonesia.

In December, members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus — which was founded by Forbes in 2005 — sent a letter to Obama requesting he issue a correction to his speech.

The letter reads: “As members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, a bi-partisan group of 68 Members of the United States House of Representatives, we are dedicated to preserving America’s religious heritage and protecting our religious liberty.

“We respectfully request that you issue a correction to the speech you gave, as it does not accurately reflect America and serves to undercut an important part of our history.”
