Could the Terminator be the Antichrist?

Now that is really throwing the line way out there! Before you go running off claiming that I’m starting a whole new conspiracy theory or something, please hear me out. I just happened to be intrigued with the news that Arnold Schwarzenegger is considering moving to Europe and running for the presidency of the European Union. The antichrist thing comes into play because I believe in the old school prophecy teaching that the antichrist will come from the EU.

I’m not really saying that Arnold is the antichrist, just because he was born in Austria and his name adds up to 666 and he’s terribly charismatic.  Before you go grabbing your calculator; I didn’t even add up his name. Really. With the right kind of math configuration, anyone’s name can come up to 666; I’m just playing around—sort of.

The EU government is a bit of a weird deal in its set-up.  The concept started back even before the 1940’s but it sort of came together in the early 1950’s. In 1993, it was officially named the European Union changing from the European Commission. Currently there are 27 member states—most of them in Europe, and it has several institutions including:

• European Commission—This is the executive body of the European Union, which is responsible for proposing legislation, implementing decisions, upholding the Union's treaties and the general management of the Union. The Commission operates as a cabinet government with one Commissioner per member state. One of the 27 is the Commission President who is appointed by the European Council. The Council then appoints the other 26 Commissioners in agreement with the nominated President, and then the 27 Commissioners as a single body are subject to a vote of approval by the European Parliament. The Commission President has the most powers.
• Council of the European Union--The Council of the European Union, officially called the Council and sometimes the Council of Ministers, is one of the legislative bodies of the EU representing the governments of member states. The Council is composed of twenty-seven national ministers (one per state). The Council President position rotates every six months among the member states.
• European Council-- The European Council refers to the regular meetings of the heads of state or of government in the EU responsible for defining the general political direction and priorities of the Union. It’s comprised of the heads of state or government of EU member states, along with its President and the President of the Commission. The European Council uses its leadership role to sort out disputes between member states and the institutions, and to resolve political crises and disagreements over controversial issues and policies. It acts externally as a "collective Head of State" and ratifies important documents. The President of the European Council is the EU’s face to the world.
• Court Justice of the EU-- Is the institution of the EU which encompasses the whole judiciary. Seated in Luxembourg, it has three sub-courts; the European Court of Justice, the General Court and the Civil Service Tribunal.
• European Central Bank-- Is the institution of the EU which administers the monetary policy of the 17 EU Eurozone member states, the states that have adopted the euro as their currency and legal tender.
• European Parliament-- Is the directly elected parliamentary institution of the EU. Together with the Council of the European Union (the Council) and the Commission, it exercises the legislative function of the EU. It is one of the most powerful legislatures in the world. The Parliament is composed of 736 MEPs (Members of the European Parliament), who serve the second largest democratic electorate in the world (after India) and the largest trans-national democratic electorate in the world.
• European Court of Auditors-- Audits the accounts of EU institutions and is composed of one member from each EU member state.

The European Commission, the Council of the European Union, and the European Council are all directed by presidents. The President of the European Commission is the most powerful, but the President of the European Union, the position for which the Terminator may run, is mostly the face for the EU to the world.

The seat of the antichrist, according to Erika Grey in her book The Seat of the Antichrist:  Bible Prophecy and the European Union, is the EU Commission. Right now, the EU governmental configuration doesn’t exactly fit the Biblical and prophetic description, but it is headed there. The recent Treaty of Lisbon (approved in 2007 and acted in 2009) shows that progression and further changes are on the way. The interesting thing is there is already scuttle about decreasing one of the bodies down to a more manageable size of 10 providing regional representation of the growing number of member states. The Commission already has a reputation for secretive meetings and would provide the perfect environment to incubate the antichrist system. Revelation 17:12 calls these 10 kings, but they don’t have a kingdom. That fits the job description of the EU Commission.

Is the Terminator the Antichrist? Most likely not; Arnold is running for the Presidential “face” position, not the antichrist-seat position. One thing he will do is provide the EU character and personality that will propel it to become the Empire it is destined to become. According to Arnold’s former cabinet secretary, “In the next few years, the EU will be looking for a much more high-profile president—somebody who can unify Europe.”

Now, if Danny DeVito were running for the Commission President, I’d say there you go! Antichrist twins for sure!
