Canadian porn star accused of eating boyfriend collapses in Montreal court

A Canadian cannibal on trial for killing, dismembering and eating his murdered boyfriend fainted in court on Tuesday after lawyers showed him video evidence of the crime.

Luka Rocco Magnotta asked for a five-minute break during the preliminary hearing for the May 2012 murder of his former boyfriend, Chinese student Jun Lin. When the judge agreed, Magnotta stood up, then collapsed into a fetal position on the floor of the Montreal courtroom, the National Post reports.

When the crime first came to light last spring, police confirmed the existence of a video in which a man who looks like Magnotta dismembers, sexually abuses, and eats Lin’s corpse. The video, which Magnotta posted online, is reportedly 11 minutes long.

Lin, Magnotta’s ex-lover, was an engineering student at Concordia University. After killing him with an ice pick, Magnotta is accused of mailing pieces of Lin’s body to Canada’s Conservative and Liberal Parties. Bloody packages containing Lin’s right hand and right foot were discovered at two Vancouver schools.

Magnotta then escaped to Germany, where he was arrested in a Berlin cafe while Googling himself. He has been charged with first-degree murder and has pleaded not guilty.

The slain student’s parents were not in the courtroom while prosecutors played the grisly video.  NYDailyNews
